President and CIO of Kanos Capital Management since its founding in 2003, Kirby knows what it takes to realize long-term vision. His passion for investing goes back to college, where early on he established a disciplined process for thoroughly researching markets and stocks for investment. That historical perspective spanning numerous cycles is a resource he still draws from today.
Prior to Kanos, Kirby served various roles in management, trading, and business development at Inventory Management and Distribution Company, a natural-gas asset management firm eventually purchased by Koch Industries. He launched his professional career as Senior Associate in Corporate Finance/Mergers & Acquisitions at Furman Selz in New York.
A graduate of Stanford University with a B.S. in geology and a B.A. in history, Kirby earned his M.B.A. in finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He lives in Houston, Texas, with his wife and children.
